Appellees’ Response Brief to Philip Brumley Sanctions Appeal

24-1 Appellees Response Brief

December 9th, 2024

The Plaintiffs in the Caekaert and Rowland Child Abuse Cases have submitted their response to Watchtower attorney Philip Brumley’s Appeal of more than $154,000 in fines levied against Brumley for his role in submitting a false and/or misleading series of affidavits.

The original abuse cases were settled in the presence of a Montana magistrate court judge in August of 2024. Following settlement, Brumley appealed the sanctions, claiming that since he was not an attorney of record in the underlying case, he should not be liable to the fines imposed.
